The Eastern Africa Grain Institute (EAGI) was established in 2012 as a division of EAGC to provide specialized training, capacity building and consultancy services to grain value chain stakeholders for purposes of reducing transaction costs.
EAGI’s mandate is to develop, promote and implement capacity building programmes for grain value chain stakeholders. These include farmers, input suppliers, traders and processors and value chain facilitators.
We offer a wide and growing variety of courses to suit the needs of different stakeholders. These courses include Structured Commodity Trade Finance, Grain Quality Management Standards, Warehouse Operations and Management, Agribusiness Finance and Web 2.0 & Social Media.
The Institute operates on a virtual basis offering courses across all ten countries within EAGC’s mandate. This ensures courses are availed as close to stakeholders as possible. Plans are also in the pipeline to offer course on e-learning platform thus expanding our training and capacity service to beyond our continent.
We pride ourselves in offering relevant, quality courses that have visible impact on our stakeholders. This is the testimony of our participants and one we strive to continually uphold.
