The Grain Business Institute in Uganda, conducted a 3-day training on Warehouse operations and Management, in partnership with Makerere University, Uganda National Bureau of Standard, Media house and Grainpulse Limited. The training was attended by over 25 private sector organizations involved in grain handling, who represent an average of over 1,000 small holder farmers. The training involved a practicum session that was held at Grain Pulse Limited, which is a Member of EAGC. Elsewhere, EAGC participated in the 2022 Harvest Money Expo held in Kololo Independence Grounds as an exhibitor where it showcased its services to stakeholders that serve as solutions to the problems ailing the grain value chain.
In Kenya, the Grain Business Institute in held a 3-day Aflatoxin Detection, Testing and Control training in Kenya at Royal Tulip in Nairobi from the 29th -31st March.The training focused on mycotoxins and factors that promote the growth, the aflatoxin impact on health, sampling and testing for aflatoxin , methods of determining aflatoxin, safety and precautions as well as Hazard and mycotoxin control. 25 participants cutting across food and feed millers, farmers and Grain Trade Business Hub representatives and food testing lab officers attended the training, showcasing that the fight against aflatoxin cuts across.
