The Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC), Grundfos (Denmark), Akvo International (Uganda), Access to Innovation (Denmark) with support from the Denmark Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MFA) under the DANIDA Green Business Partnership Programme (DGBP) are implementing a project “Enhancing irrigation to improve climate adaptation
and sustain smallholder production systems in Uganda”. This initiative aims to reduce climate vulnerabilities and increase sustainability of smallholder food production
systems to improve livelihoods of smallholder farmers by enhancing availability and adoption of smart irrigation solutions and climate adaptation practices within an
inclusive ecosystem of private sector driven services.
We are seeking applicants for a training program for irrigation extension artisans, who will support farmers in irrigation agronomy, water management and climate change
adaptation.
Training Contents
Selected persons will undergo 5 days of training that will include both theory and practical’s session and a 3-month attachment program to an irrigation scheme. The key
areas to be covered include; Irrigation, system operation and maintenance, solar water pumping, water use efficiency and Entrepreneurship.
Eligibility criteria
The candidate is expected to:
- Should have attained at least UCE or its equivalent.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in undertaking similar activities is will be and added advantage required.
