New markets: Buyer-seller opportunities.

That was the EAGC South Eastern Region Agribusiness Expo, held on 30 July 2026 at SEKU’s Kwa Vonza Main Campus, Kitui in Kenya.

THE HIGHLIGHTS ARE HERE!

Bringing together 1,500 farmers and agricultural value-chain players, the Expo hosted in partnership with Kitui County Government showcased practical solutions for boosting productivity, reducing post-harvest losses, building climate resilience and unlocking better markets.

🌱 From improved seeds, irrigation and mechanisation to soil management, value addition and post-harvest technologies, farmers got to see solutions in action.

🌾 Through the AGRA-funded RE-GAIN project, farmers explored technologies such as hermetic bags, silos, tarpaulins and threshers to help protect grain and reduce losses after harvest.

🚀 The Expo in partnership with Danish Industry spotlighted soybean as an emerging market opportunity for the Lower Eastern region, alongside the growing importance of sustainable production, traceability and responsible farming.

🤝 And the results were impressive: assorted grains and pulses were linked to markets through B2B engagements, with a combined value of more than KES 122 million!

The Expo resolved that better farming needs better technology, stronger business connections and timely access to the right markets.
